These are suitable for those who have been unemployed for long periods, held different types of jobs in the past, changed jobs too frequently, are returning to work after a long period or who wish to change career.

Recent graduates and others on a consistent career path usually opt for thechronological format. These CVs list your jobs and duties for each in reverse chronological order.
時序性簡歷——是要按照逆時序記錄你曾就職的職位的。適合于應屆畢業生,或者工作不曾未間斷過。
(2) Categorize your achievements第二步:給你的成就分類When doing up a chronological CV, you should outline sections of your experience, education and skills to show what you’ve accomplished. HR personnel and employers take less than a minute to scan your CV, so it’s imperative to highlight and organize items into several concise and relevant segments.

If you’re a recent graduate and therefore have not yet been employed, put your Education section first. In addition to the basics – university name, degree and graduation date – you can include relevant coursework, honors or awards.

And select a reasonable size – anywhere between 9 and 12 points should be acceptable. Use a sans serif font like Arial or Verdana, not Times New Roman.

Balance Sheet:
基本方法選取適當的工作后,必須看清招聘廣告上所列出的每項要求,再將自己的學歷、能力與興趣逐一與之比較,作一張balance sheet.
例如,一則關于marketing management trainee和job requirement是這樣寫的:

University graduate majors in Marketing Management. Prepared to develop career in the commercial field

剛畢業,何來工作經驗?其實,客下讀書時的兼職、實習、實踐,以至所曾參加的一些課外活動-協助助出版學校刊物、舉辦活動,展覽、宣傳......都可算是工作經驗、不過,表達起來要有針對性地展開,列出那些與所找工作有關連的項目重點介紹,必要時更可使用summary的方式,給招聘者深入的了解。

Job Objective通常,一般求職者只會在履歷表開端簡單地寫上所應征的職位-"Position Applied: Management Trainee"或"I am appling for......"其實,若懂得利用這小小空間寫出自己的事業目標(job objective),能顯示出你對該工作的熱誠及憧憬,能令招聘者對你加倍留意。
比如這個不錯的例子job objective To begin as a Marketing Management Trainee, with opportunity to advance to executive level and contribute to the development of firm.
其實,這位外企人士所談的關于準備RESUME的技巧,完全可以應用到中文簡歷上來。各位讀者可以嘗試一下。
8. 英文求職簡歷書寫的11個要求畢業在即,很多同學都會考慮進外企,那么寫一份奪人眼球的英文簡歷就必不可缺了。那么寫簡歷時有什么基本要求,怎么樣才能抓住重點,突出自己的優勢呢?小編希望下面這篇文章能給大家以參考。
(1)What is a resume anyway? 什么是簡歷?Remember: a resume is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best possible light, for the purpose of getting invited to a job interview. It"s not an officialpersonnel document. It"s not a job application. It"s not a "career obituary"! And it"s not a confessional.
(2)What should the resume content be about? 應該在簡歷上寫些什么?It"s not just about past jobs! It"s about YOU, and how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs--especially those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. A good resume predicts how you might perform in that desired future job.
(3)What"s the fastest way to improve a resume? 完善簡歷的捷徑是什么?Remove everything that starts with "responsibilities included" and replace it with on-the-job accomplishments. (See Tip 11 for one way to write them.)
(4)What is the most common resume mistake made by job hunters? 寫簡歷時最常見的錯誤是什么?Leaving out their Job Objective! If you don"t show a sense of direction, employers won"t be interested. Having a clearly stated goal doesn"t have to confine you if it"s stated well.
(5)What"s the first step in writing a resume? 寫簡歷的第一步是什么?Decide on a job target (or "job objective") that can be stated in about 5 or 6 words. Anything beyond that is probably "fluff" and indicates a lack of clarity and direction.
(6)How do you decide whether to use a Chronological resume or a Functional one? 按時間順序寫簡歷好還是按技能或能力寫簡歷?The Chronological format is widely preferred by employers, and works well if you"re staying in the same field (especially if you"ve been upwardly-mobile). Only use a Functional format if you"re changing fields, and you"re sure a skills-oriented format would show off your transferable skills to better advantage; and be sure to include a clear chronological work history!
(7)What if you don"t have any experience in the kind of work you want to do? 要是在你想要從事的領域沒有任何經驗怎么辦?Get some! Find a place that will let you do some volunteer work right away. You only need a brief, concentrated period of volunteer training (for example, 1 day a week for a month) to have at least SOME experience to put on your resume. Also, look at some of the volunteer work you"ve done in the past and see if any of THAT helps document some skills you"ll need for your new job.
(8)What do you do if you have gaps in your work experience? 要是發現在你社會經歷中出現空白期怎么辦?You could start by looking at it differently. General Rule: Tell what you WERE doing, as gracefully as possible--rather than leave a gap. If you were doing anything valuable (even if unpaid) during those so-called "gaps" you could just insert THAT into the work-history section of your resume to fill the hole. Here are some examples:
1993-95 Full-time parent -- or
1992-94 Maternity leave and family management -- or
Travel and study -- or
Full-time student -- or
Parenting plus community service
(9)What if you have several different job objectives you‘re working on at the same time? Or you haven‘t narrowed it down yet to just one job target? 如果你同時有好幾個職業目標怎么辦?或者你一時之間無法做出選擇怎么辦?Then write a different resume for each different job target. A targeted resume is MUCH, much stronger than a generic resume.
(10)What if you have a fragmented, scrambled-up work history, with lots of short-term jobs? 如果你的社會實踐多而雜,且時間短怎么辦?To minimize the job-hopper image, combine several similar jobs into one "chunk," for example:
1993-1995 Secretary/Receptionist; Jones Bakery, Micro Corp., Carter Jewelers -- or
1993-95 Waiter/Busboy; McDougal"s Restaurant, Burger King, Traders Coffee Shop.
Also you can just drop some of the less important, briefest jobs. But don"t drop a job, even when it lasted a short time, if that was where you acquired important skills or experience.
(11)What‘s the best way to impress an employer? 最能吸引雇主的辦法是什么?Fill your resume with "PAR" statements. PAR stands for Problem-Action-Results; in other words, first you state the problem that existed in your workplace, then you describe what you did about it, and finally you point out the beneficial results.
Here"s an example: "Transformed a disorganized, inefficient warehouse into a smooth-running operation by totally redesigning the layout; this saved the company thousands of dollars in recovered stock."
Another example: "Improved an engineering company"s obsolete filing system by developing a simple but sophisticated functional-coding system. This saved time and money by recovering valuable, previously lost, project records."
9. 如何寫出原汁原味英文簡歷Your CV should not go beyond two pages, so deciding what to include and what to leave off is very important. Everything you include should be relevant to the needs of your employer and be designed to enhance your application.
你的簡歷不能超過兩頁,所以決定好哪些是必要的信息,哪些需要去掉是很重要的。簡歷中所包含的信息必須符合雇主的需要,并且能突出你適合此職位的原因。
It is vital to fully understand what the company is looking for; parts of your background will be more relevant to what the company requires than others. You can adapt your CV for the specific job requirement; try to match what you offer with the company’s needs. Do your research on the company, read the job advertisement carefully and thenhighlight how your CV ties in with their job requirements.

Include relevant examples of your achievements that make you an especially well qualifiedcandidate. Show why your skills are transferrable; tell the employer what you can do with your talent in the position you’re applying for. Bullet-point your list of skills and include a brief note alongside each skill. The employer can scan the list and you can talk in greater depth about them at your interview.

Under the heading of education and qualifications you should include formal andvocational training but keep the list short and concise. Include the details of where and when you received the training but it’s not necessary to list the grades of your qualifications. If they aren’t exceptional it is usually better to omit this information.
在教育程度和資格證書里,必須包括正式教育和業余培訓信息,但記住保持目錄短小簡潔。這其中含有接受培訓的時間和地點,但資格證書中不需要寫出所獲等級,如果成績不是非常優秀,一般最好省略此信息。
When you are listing any jobs you have had, it is common to do this in reversechronological order; listing your most recent job first and working backwards. Give a brief summary of your roles and responsibilities and omit any jobs not related to the job you are applying for. Also avoid listing your salaries.

What you leave off your CV is very important. Decide what is relevant and edit out the rest. For example, similar jobs can be grouped together under just one heading and emphasise promotions rather just listing all your job positions.

Age (for age, marital status and family status you need to be culturally aware. In the US it is not the custom to include these details. Things you could leave off, if your CV is becoming too long:

10. 經典英文簡歷模板CVs are a summary of your skills and achievements and they need to be short; preferably a maximum of two pages. You have the freedom to choose which format you think will most appeal to your prospective employer and so will maximise your strengthswhilst minimising your weaknesses.
