                  一、 上下語境法

                  除了這些表述之外,有時文章的破折號、冒號、括號、逗號等也能起到提示的作用。

                  2. 利用對比、反義詞猜測詞義

                  第二節 句子的閱讀和理解

                  一、 確定難點所在,簡化難點

                  1. 如果句子里生詞多,可把生詞刪去,看看是否理解剩下部分。

                  2. 如果句子很長,可把句子分成若干短句。

                  3. 確定句子中說明或展開主題的部分。一般說來,逗號,破折號,由which,who或that引導的從句等提供的多半是附加信息或對主題進一步說明。這時可把說明性部分刪去,以確定主題。

                  1. 圓周句

                  圓周句,又稱周期句(periodic sentence),指主句或謂語在句末的句子。為了提高閱讀速度,像這樣的句子,我們閱讀的過程中只要抓住信息的中心點(后面的主句部分),若是需要再分析整個長句。

                  2. 長句難句

                  就四級考試而言,所謂難句,一難在于結構,二難在于詞匯因素。詞匯因素主要涉及一詞多義或熟詞生意等問題。所謂“詞無定義”,即詞義是由上下文確定的,一個詞或詞組只有在具體語境中才具有意義。因此理解詞匯必須聯系上下文。

                  結構因素主要體現在句式的復雜性,如多重復句、特殊表現法、長句等。這些句子對語言能力的要求較高,首先要求結合上下文,大致摸清其在上下文中的結構作用;其次要從句子主干入手,弄清主干部分。結構清楚了,意思也就容易理解了。

                  第三節 閱讀理解的傳統題型——多項選擇

                  一、 題型介紹與分析

                  1. 主旨題

                  主旨題主要考察考生理解、把握全文或某一段落的主旨大意的能力。正確回答此類問題,要求考生能夠甄別主要信息和次要信息,在此基礎上,進而歸納總結出某一段落或整個篇章的中心思想或主要論題。這類題型的常見提問方式有:

                  細節題考察考生對某一細節的理解。因此,解答細節題要求把握句子內部、句子之間、上下段落之間的聯系。總體來說,細節題答題的關鍵在于找到問題提干內容在文章的出處。

                  閱讀時,注意句子之間、段落間出現的承接詞,這些重要的語言符號通常都表現不同的邏輯關系。此類考題的常見提問方式有:

                  a. According to the passage, all of the following are true except ___.

                  b. Which of the following is not mentioned in the passage?

                  c. Which of the following is the least likely …?

                  d. Which of the following is true according to …?

                  3. 推斷題

                  推斷題分為細節推斷和綜合推斷兩大類。細節推斷即根據某些細節線索推斷其隱藏含義,由表及里,由此及彼。綜合推斷要求從篇章的角度推理判斷,如判斷作者的觀點態度,根據邏輯推斷出未明確表達的含義等。相對而言,解答推斷題難度較大。推斷題的常見提問方式有:

                  第四節 閱讀理解新題型一 —— 選詞填空

                  1. 題型介紹與分析

                  選詞填空題的考查方式是:一批220單詞左右的閱讀文章中一共留10處空白,要求考生從所給的由15個備選單詞構成的word bank中選擇最合適的填入文章的相應空白處,使文章表達正確、語義通順。

                  這部分內容主要測試考生的英語綜合運用能力,即閱讀能力、根據語篇的上下文理解句子的能力以及運用正確的語法和詞匯的能力。解答這樣的試題,要求學生具有一定的閱讀能力和扎實的語言基本功。鞏固基礎知識、增強閱讀訓練、增強語感和進行有針對性的練習是提高答題水平的關鍵。

                  選詞填空不會針對虛詞進行出題,而是注重對考生掌握和運用實詞能力的考查,主要是名詞、動詞、形容詞、副詞等。

                  2. 解題步驟與技巧

                  因為仔細閱讀部分(包括以多項選擇考察的兩篇傳統的閱讀理解和一篇選詞填空)需要在25分鐘內完成,所以學生要合理分配利用好時間,在8分鐘左右的時間內完成選詞填空部分。建議考生按以下步驟答題:

                  1) 首先在閱讀文章前把word bank 中備選的15個單詞很快的瀏覽一遍,理解它們的詞義和詞性,做到心中有數。然后閱讀文章。

                  2) 由于選詞填空題不是單句的填空,而是短文的填空,所以一定要在具體的填空前先通讀全文,采取略讀的方法,努力尋找每段的主題句,了解文章的大意。一般來說,文章的首句是不設空的,而且是一個完整句。這個首句很可能是主題句,是對全文內容的提綱挈領,特別是議論文和說明文更是如此。主題句能非常有效地把我們的思路引導到某一個事情的說明或某一個問題的論點上,使我們立即抓住主題。通讀全文一般應在一分鐘內完成。

                  3) 邊閱讀文章邊解題。閱讀時,應充分運用自己的語言知識將選擇的范圍縮小,某個單詞一經選擇,立即做上記號,這樣就能非常直觀地縮小后面填空處的可選范圍,從而節省時間。填空的時候,要注意句子中所缺的是什么內容,即所填的詞在整個句子中擔當什么樣的成分,是主語、謂語,還是定語、狀語,我們據此可以確定它的詞性,然后采取排除法來選取答案。也可以根據句子的結構、詞組的搭配來選詞。有些時候根據我們的語感,也可以順利地選擇一部分答案,但如果某些填空無法確定哪個是正確的選詞時,最好暫放一邊,接著閱讀后面的內容并解答其他的問題。往往空格后面的內容也可給出一些暗示。或等其他部分完成后,再結合全文的內容和所剩的選詞來進行判斷和選擇。這一部分應在5分鐘左右完成。

                  4) 把所選的單詞放在文章中通讀全文,來檢驗所選的單詞是否合乎語法,是否使上下文邏輯合理,是否前后語義一致、通順。然后再將答案填寫在答題卡上。檢查應在1—2分鐘內完成。

                  第五節 閱讀理解新題型二 —— 快速閱讀

                  1、題型介紹

                  考生在15分鐘內閱讀一篇1000字左右的文章,并完成后面的10道題,其中前7道要求判斷正誤(Yes, No)或判斷句子內容文中是否提及(Not Given);后3題要求根據文章內容把句子補充完整或簡短回答問題。是非判斷題通常給出一定數量的陳述句,即基于愿望內容進行解釋和總結的陳述句,要求考生根據文章所提供的信息對陳述作出正誤判斷。而填充題所設計的額空格都位于句末,所填充的答案基本都是文章中出現的原詞,而且命題所涉及的內容和原文順序基本相同,提干部分一般為原文中某部分意思的轉述。

                  2、兩類題型分析及解答方法

                  1) 正誤判斷題

                  解題步驟是:

                  第一步:迅速找到題目在原文中的出處。我們可以抓住題目中的關鍵詞,找到它所屬的段落,然后快速瀏覽這一段,找出段落中與題目相關的陳述(一句話或幾句話)。我們要注意順序性,因為題目的順序基本和文章的段落順序一致。

                  第二步:閱讀這部分的內容,將題目的陳述和原文對比,特別要注意的是:考題中的陳述不大可能與原文一模一樣,很可能是對原文這一部分內容的同義轉述或概括總結和歸納,因此處理時要靈活有度。

                  判斷陳述為No的情況有如下幾種:考題中的陳述與原文完全相反;原文中的陳述是多個條件并列(通常為兩種情況,以and, both… and, not only…but also…等詞語出現),而考題中只是一個條件(must, only等詞匯出現);原文是人們對某事某人的個人觀點、態度、感覺或看法(feel, think, assume, suppose),而題目中的陳述則強調客觀事實或已被證明的某事(fact, prove);原文和考題中的陳述盡管句子的主干部分相同,但使用了不同的表示范圍、頻率、可能性的詞語,我們對比時要特別仔細小心,關注諸如此類的詞語:always, sometimes, usually, all many, possible, impossible等;原文中陳述包括條件狀語,而考題中的陳述卻有意去掉條件狀語,故意迷惑學生。對于后四種情況,考生要特別小心。

                  Not Given題目的設計也不外乎以下幾種情況:考題中的內容在原文中根本沒有找到;考題中的陳述所涉及的范圍小于原文涉及的范圍,也就是說,考題中的陳述過于具體化,因此,我們一定要緊扣原文內容,不要想得過多、過深,而是就事論事,僅此而已。

                  2)填充題

                  填充題主要考查學生的閱讀理解和使用英語詞匯的能力。這類題的出題思路和解題策略是:

                  第一步:分析需要填充部分的語法結構。

                  第二步:分析已給出部分的中心詞或句意關鍵詞。其中中心詞包括:專有名詞、時間或地點,人名和數字,特殊的印刷體(黑體、下劃線部分或斜體),特殊標點符號(破折號、小括號、冒號等);句意關鍵詞是:句子的主語和謂語;空格前的詞匯的詞性(介詞、動詞、形容詞等);需要填空的部分在句中的成分;句子中的肯定和否定成分等。然后回到原文中定位填空。

                  3、快速閱讀的方法和技巧

                  一、 以意群(sense group)為單位進行閱讀,培養正確的閱讀習慣。

                  二、 略讀(skimming)

                  三、 搜讀(查讀或尋讀)(scanning)

                  綜合改錯

                  綜合改錯題一般選用一篇200—250詞左右的短文,包含十處語法結構或用詞等方面的錯誤,但不包括拼寫和標點符號錯誤。考試時間15分鐘。

                  具體做法:1、可以改詞、刪詞或添加詞。2、添加詞時,要在原文需要添加的地方加∧標示,并在相應的空格中寫上添加的詞。3、改詞時,要在原文中斜線(/)劃出,再在空格中改正。4、刪詞時,在原文中斜線(/)標出后,在所給空格中劃斜線(/)以表示該處刪去。劃去多余的詞,每次只能劃一個,多劃則算答錯。另外,改錯題同時也測試考生拼寫單詞的能力,因此,改錯時,如果有拼寫錯誤也不得分。

                  步驟:1、通讀全文,了解大意。

                  2、針對所標示的行列,根據上下文檢索錯誤并改正。看有無詞匯錯誤:固定搭配或習慣用法上的錯誤 → 看有無語法結構上的錯誤 → 考慮邏輯關系上的錯誤:統觀全篇看上下文意思是否連貫,連接詞是否有明顯的錯誤,是否存在邏輯關系矛盾等。

                  3、再次通讀全文,檢查核對。

                  常見錯誤類型:

                  一、 詞匯錯誤

                  1.名詞。名詞的錯誤主要表現在混淆名詞的單、復數;分不清名詞是可數還是不可數等。

                  2.動詞。主要是及物動詞和不及物動詞的辨別;動詞辨析;

                  3.冠詞。英語中的冠詞分為:零冠詞、不定冠詞(a或an)、定冠詞(the)。錯誤常表現在冠詞的漏用或多用;習慣用法、固定表達中的冠詞不能隨意添減,要注意記憶。

                  4.代詞。主要有:(1)關系代詞的使用錯誤,比如that與which、that與what等;(2)上下文的指代錯誤;(3)代詞it作形式主語或賓語與this、that的混用等。(4)反身代詞的使用也要與前面的主語一致對應。

                  5.數詞。主要錯誤基數詞和序數詞的混用。

                  6.介詞。錯誤主要涉及用法和各類搭配。注意平時積累。

                  7.形容詞、副詞。常見的是同根詞詞性的混淆,以及比較級、最高級的使用錯誤。

                  二、語法錯誤

                  2. 時態。一篇結構完整、語義連貫的短文,所使用的時態應該是前后一致的。時態的判斷上考生要注意段落整體的時態。其他方面的錯誤還包括:主從句時態不一致;時態的表達與所示的時間不相符合;幾個并列的時態使用不一致;由于句子結構的調整,如倒裝句型、強調句型等而出現的比較隱蔽的時態錯誤。考生在作判斷時,可以從這樣幾個角度來考慮問題:抓住文章中的時間狀語;對比主從句中的時態是否一致;還要特別注意一些特殊語法中涉及到的時態現象。

                  3. 語態。主要是主動語態和被動語態的混用,考生特別要注意,不及物動詞不帶賓語,所以沒有被動語態的用法。

                  4. 從句。從句部分常出現的錯誤有:定語從句關系代詞、關系副詞的選用;定語從句中的主謂一致;各種名詞性從句的用法;狀語從句及其中的連接詞等。

                  5. 虛擬語氣。虛擬語氣一直是英語考試中的必備項,它是語法部分的一個重點和難點。考生要注意掌握各種虛擬語氣的類型和用法,以便在做題中熟練運用。

                  6. 非謂語動詞。非謂語動詞有三種形式:動詞不定式;-ed分詞和-ing分詞;動名詞。考點包括:(1)-ed分詞和 -ing分詞;(2)動詞不定式作主語或賓語,有時需要it作形式主語或形式賓語。(3)有些動詞不定式在使用時要省略to 。如使役動詞make/have和感官動詞see/watch/feel以及help等。
